Fahan 'Old Church' one of the first

Planter Churches was built in 1622

Saint Mura's Cross -slab.

This 6th century monument

is reputed to mark the burial

place of the saint.

The Greek inscription

on the North side of the

Cross is unique. It is a

sixth century prayer

and is the only example of

a Greek inscription on an

early Christian monument

in Ireland

The Rectory built in 1820 was once the home of hymnist Frances Alexander

The stained glass window in the New Church was executed by Evie Hone. It tells the story of Elizabeth of Hungary

Agnes Jones, pioneering nurse lived in Fahan House. She revolutionised nursing in Liverpool workhouse and died during the cholera epidemic there in 1868

Fahan House was once the home of Agnes Jones. It was also used by officers of the British Navy. There has been a house on this site since 1605.
It is now a private residence.
